I woke early this morning and after reading some words written by the prophet, Mauricio, I was touched and felt happiness and joy in my heart. I then read some words, from someone else,  which were disconcerting and I began to feel the comfort and joy which was mine just a few moments early- slip away. I felt goodness and light being drained from my soul and in its place despair and doubt. I returned to my quiet room and pouring out my soul in prayer I asked the Holy Spirit to renew a right spirit in me. Another beautiful friend then delivered a message to me, I’ll not include the words here but her words were kindness and strength to me. Returning to my prayers these words flooded my mind:

O Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end; Be Thou forever near me, my Master and my Friend; I shall not fear the battle if Thou art by my side, Nor wander from the pathway if Thou wilt be my Guide.

Oh, let me hear Thee speaking in accents clear and still, I dare not trust my judgment: Thy way shall be my will; Oh, speak to reassure me, to hasten or control; Oh, speak, and help me listen, Thou Guardian of my soul.

O Jesus, Thou hast promised to all who follow Thee, That where Thou art in glory there shall Thy servant be; And Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end—Oh, give me grace to follow, my Master and my Friend.

Oh, let me see Thy footprints, and in them plant mine own; My hope to follow duly is in Thy strength alone; Oh, guide me, call me, draw me, uphold me to the end; And then in Heav’n receive me, my Savior and my Friend.

We all have battles and struggles in this life, I know of none who goes through life without adversity. But it’s how those battles and struggles impact us is the matter. Will we fall under the weight of it?  Will we surrender our lives to live under the control of the evil one who attempts at every turn to extinguish the good in us?  Will we allow ourselves to be the dwelling place of the thoughts and feelings of the adversary of God? Every time we entertain anger, hostility, impatience, sadness, mean spiritedness, we walk away from the Holy Spirit and our Creator. The path that leads to our Loving God is through LOVE whose attributes are: charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity (kindness), goodness, longanimity (generosity), mildness (gentleness), faith, modesty, continency (self-control), and chastity. Every moment of every day those who seek to be in the company of angels and of our Creator should keep these words before our eyes, even lining the walls of our heart and mind with them. These attributes are indeed the “Gate” of each of our relationships with our God and with which there is neither law nor confines!

I bear testimony of the redeeming love of our Savior and of our merciful God.    I bear testimony that the Holy Spirit can fill all of our lives so completely as to transform us from mortality and lift us into Heavenly places--leaving us to feel this reality is not--and that the heavens truly hold our reality, being veiled momentarily so that we can fulfill our callings and understand the choices we have made. I bear witness that each one of us was made in the image of our Creator and as such we may be endowed with such great compassion and love, mercy and grace, wisdom and joy--if we just have faith and a desire! God is limitless and in the likeness of our God – what limits have we? It is the usurper and liar who deceives men and women to believing we are nothing and causes us to forget our first estate! I plead with all to remember who you are. Remember the promises made to the prophets. Remember the words of Moses: “And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord's people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his Spirit upon them.” Numbers 11:29

I leave my testimony this day in the blessed name of the redeemer of all mankind, Jesus. Amen
